That was a very nice post sweetheart :-) I wanted to share some of my images too! Jen is so creative and when paired with a wonderful couple such as Allie, Matt and their totally awesome family, she creates just amazing work. I am just lucky enough to be there to witness it... My images are made possible because of Jen and I owe my gratitude to everything she does.. I love you!
To meet a couple who shares the same affinity as Jody and I do for cupcakes and donuts, is less common than we'd like. At our initial consultation, I think we spent more time discussing sweets than wedding day details with this Portland-based couple. Right away, we knew we were a great match for them! We fell in love with their visions, bridesmaids and groomsmen in all J. Crew casuals, the bride's organic raw silk dress from a boutique in Portland, the groom's linen suit, and of course the mini cupcakes from Trophy. Those of you who follow our blog might be noticing a little shift in our photography style. We are always looking for unique ideas, angles and we love couples like Allie and Matt who are trusting enough to let us express this creativity. I have shot at the Hall at Fauntleroy in West Seattle since my first season as a professional wedding photography 10 years ago (my I am sounding old, I am only in my very early 30s folks!). Never before have my photos from this venue looked like this! -Jen
Jen and I had a fabulous time photographing Debbie and Gabe's wedding at Novelty Hill • Januik winery in Woodinville. When we arrived, we were informed that one of the groomsmen had to go to the ER with a slight hole in his head... I don't, something about his wife and the car... that is all I can say :-) And it turns out that the bride and groom's first two dates were in the ER! Hmmm, have a great time in Italy you two and stay out of the ER. All kidding aside, we had a great time and the staff at the winery were amazing, especially the coordinator Emily Pollock.

With the bride being a firefighter, the groom in line to be a paramedic and a guest list full of such folks, I am not sure I ever felt safer at a wedding. :-) This casual wedding at Rock Creek Gardens (gorgeous newer venue, by the way) was very serene.
While we were doing the bridal party photos, I noticed a shovel off to the side of one of buildings. Thinking of the classic farmer couple and pitchfork image, I jokingly asked Jody if he'd seen a pitchfork laying around. The next thing I knew, he found one...and my desire to replicate this classic photo (a la Jen style) was born. --Jen
Today's wedding was at the swanky Georgetown Ballroom, and what a cool venue! The colored paper lanterns, neon lights and old signs made a nice contrast in style from the classic garden portraits we shot earlier in the day. (The gardens in Medina were GORGEOUS and we loved that overcast sky for portraits.) John's Dad officiated the ceremony and Katie's sister made the cake. So sweet! They had buffet stations set up around the room including woodfired pizza from Veroci, a sushi station and a classic buffet. The Craig Lawrence Band had everyone out of their seats. Can't wait to shoot here again!--Jen & Jody

The great thing about shooting in Bellevue is there are a variety of looks available within a few minutes drive. We started at the downtown Bellevue Park with Lauren & Mike, which is looking particularly lush and green thanks to the recent rainfall. Then we headed to the Bellevue Library. I really like the steps outside of the building and the color of the building itself for some photos against the wall. The grocery cart bit was totally a new one for us! It's so fun to try things that are outside-the-box. Lauren and Mike had a good laugh which led to some very candid expressions. :-) They are very natural together and have such beautiful smiles! --Jen (and Jody)
First Gasworks Park then Pioneer Square...we were loving this session! Kelly and Dan are one of those couples seriously in love which makes our job of capturing that chemistry so simple. They trusted us completely which is huge in photography. Trust=creativity=awesome photos!
Check us out on Facebook under Jen and Jody Photography for more images from this session and other events as well!
