It's been several years since we've shot a wedding on New Years Eve, but I think it is one of the best ways to ring in the new year! You've got a guaranteed party, awesome food and happy people. Sara and Matt's wedding was very lively, and Jody and I had a spectacular time. The rain kept us mostly indoors for the shoot, but the Westin is beautiful as are the surrounding buildings. We ran into several people we knew including guests from a wedding we shot in 2008 and even a mother-of-the-bride for a wedding we are shooting this summer. The Craig Lawrence Band kept the party hoppin!' --Jen (and Jody)

Dear Jen and Jody,

Wow! The pictures are amazing. We were initially blown away by the slideshow that you made for us; however, after finally making our way through all of the other pictures we are truly amazed with all of them. We felt like we were reliving our day as we worked our way through all of the albums. It is so fantastic that we will now be able to illustrate our day to all those family and friends who were unable to join us.

The combination of candids and intimate portraits that you both captured is truly phenomenal. Thank you!

As we have now made our way through all of the pictures, do we now need to meet or speak with you both to finalize the pictures for our wedding album? We weren't sure what the typical process was for this. Also, is it possible to get a copy of the slideshow that you made so that we can download it onto our computer?

After seeing the pictures we can't wait to see the finished albums and with only a couple of photo frames to fill, we are already dreading the process of selecting the pictures to fill them.

Jody and I photographed Ashley and Kevin from getting ready candids all the way until they exited at the end of the night, yet our day went by so very fast. What a fabulous group to hang out with! Ashley and Kevin are so incredibly sweet, and very, very trusting of our artistic eye. They were up for anything we suggested. With that kind of attitude, Jody and I feel...well...giddy! I just love how natural they really are. Some gentle guidance from us, and presto--beautiful photos! We shot over 2,500 images that day, and I'm sure I could post about 200 of our favorites. Here are just a few. Thank you for choosing us, Ashley and Kevin. We are looking forward to using some of your images in our marketing, but even above that, we feel like we have two new friends. :-) -Jen (and Jody)

Katharine & Bret--10-3-09--Columbia Winery

Each time we shoot at a venue we have shot at before, we look for new and different angles. Katharine and Bret's wedding at the Columbia Winery in Woodinville is a venue we have photographed at many, many times before. I must say, this was my favorite time ever shooting here! THe day was a perfect mix of a beautiful couple, nice flat lighting and warm autumn colors. The barrel room photos were so fun, and we had some amazing angles. Check out the wide shot with that red floor...Jody's perspective was amazing. I am also reminded of how small this world really is. We photographed the wedding of Jessica & Tyler in May of 2009 at Sahalee. They lived in Boston but were getting married here. ( Jody and I shot their engagement session in Boston as well.) Anyhow, Katharine found our website when looking for Seattle-based wedding photographers. At the time she lived in Montana, and we met with her and her mother during one of her visits to Washington. Turns out Katharine is good friends with Jessica, and both couples were guests at each others' weddings! --Jen (and Jody)

Kerry & Todd--Nov. 2009 Engagement Session

My goodness it was cold! I was so impressed that Kerry could pull off such comfortable, natural photographs while Jody and I were layered up. They wanted a modern take to their engagement photos (ie, not trees, grass and a park), and we knew just the places to take them. The blue wall photo was an awesome find (ok, we didn't research that, we were just walking to our car and I spotted it...but I will take the credit!) We had a fabulous time with Kerry and Todd! Their wedding is in March just outside of Las Vegas, where we know it will be much warmer. :-) Cheers! -Jen (and Jody)

Cassandra & Aaron--9-18-09, Spirit of Washington Events Center

We met Cassandra at a local wedding expo, but she already knew who we were because Jody and I photographed two of her friends' weddings (one in '07, the other in '08). We were delighted to capture Cassandra and Aaron's wedding day! Gorgeous weather + a gorgeous and completely in love couple = a perfect formula for photography! Jody and I were also delighted to have Willa, an up-and-coming California-based wedding photographer, shooting with us. We greatly enjoyed having Willa shadow us at a few weddings this summer. Funny how much we have in common...both vegetarian, both a mom of twins, both love weddings! -Jen (and Jody)

Jen and Jody Newcastle Vendor Spotlight Video

This past weekend, Jen and I shot the wedding for a lovely couple, Jenny and Travis at Newcastle Golf Club. Jen's amazing and cool sister flew up from Florida to train with us as she is embarking on a quest of starting her studio. We had a blast and huge thank you to Jeremy Almeda from Endless Love Productions. As some of know, Jeremy is the creative mastermind behind NW Bride TV, a reality TV series following local couples through the wedding planning process. You can read more at NWBride TV. We are super excited to share his rough-cut video from Saturday's wedding. Truly Amazing!

Kathryn & Conor-Roche Harbor 8.23.09

Kathryn and Conor had a destination wedding at Hotel de Haro in Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. This was a very, very special treat for Jody and I since we'd never been to Roche before. This was the only wedding we shot that weekend so we stayed longer for a mini-getaway. Rainy, cloudy days lead up to their wedding, but we were fortunate to have bright blue skies. Kathryn's style was very fun, a sort "Hollywood Glam" as she called it. Her shoes were killer! Jody and I love this venue, and we can't wait to go back for another wedding!
