Our trip back east a couple of weeks ago was so much fun. Jen and I got to explore New York, Boston and Rhode Island all in one trip. Dawn and Derek's wedding was in Newport, R.I. It was our first time shooting in R.I. and it was humid. The couple was fun, open to our ideas and the day just flew by. Jen and I split in in the morning so she could be with the girls and me with the guys. About an hour into the morning with the guys, I spotted some railroad tracks near the water and I asked them to follow my car so we could find easy access to the tracks. We finally did, and as you can see I got some great shots of the groomsmen walking. I told the guys to stay on the tracks while I went down below to shoot them from a different angle. What happened next I will never forget. Since the trains back east run on electricity, they are quite and fast. All the sudden a groomsman heard the buzzing of the electricity and before they could even say TRAIN! it bared down on them at nearly 80 mile per hour as they all dove off the tracks. It was a near miss and act of god that there was not a collision. It happened so sudden that I was speechless for almost an hour, I mean what could I possible say at that point other than "oops". It was a scary moment but makes for a great story now and one that I am sure they will never forget. The rest of the day went safely and we got some awesome shots. -Cheers, Jody
