Jenny and Matt were married on Sunday at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland. It was so sunny and warm, who could complain? Jody and I certainly felt this very spunky couple had one of the most lively receptions we've ever seen. Everyone partied! All of the guests and bridal party were especially kind and willing to do whatever crazy stuff we thought of for photos. Matt and Jenny were stellar in front of the lens. The eight hours of photography seriously FLEW by! (The cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes were delicious. My personal fav was the white cake with chocolate frosting. Jody liked the banana coconut...at least we think that's what it was.) We also had the pleasure of working with Keri from Bliss Events. She is a fabulous coordinator and kept a very peaceful atmosphere. --Jen and Jody
I must say, Jody blew me away with these beautifully balanced sunset photos. Technically speaking, these are not easy to pull off, but he did! (I just held the light.) Also, it's been a little superstition Jody's always had during the first dance. If the couple does a dip at the end, even when he thinks he's in the right place, he never gets the angle he wants! We always joke about it after the fact, and he pretends to hate me for catching the shot time after time. However at Jenny and Matt's wedding, he totally nailed the dip! Even better than I did! That's what is great about working as a team. With both of us shooting, you're covered! --Jen
We had such a beautiful weekend for weddings! Jody and I shot two this weekend. The first was Andrea and Tyson at Lord Hill Farms. What a vibrant, fun couple! While we have photographed many times at LHF over the years, this is the first couple that has ever asked to do photos in the cute little nearby town of Snohomish. Of course, we were all over that! In fact, from now on we're thinking of making it a requirement for any future weddings at LHF. :-) We found a very cool old building at the edge of town, and we also happened upon a small classic car show were we did some fun photos. Andrea's dress was probably the most trashed pre-ceremony that we've experienced, but she was in such great spirt about it and kept saying "I don't care, I'm getting married!" She simply shrugged when her veil, that she made herself, snagged a hole in it! Without a care in the world, we kept photographing. Her smile never wavered. We LOVED her attitude, and I am sure she'll LOVE her photos! --Jen and Jody
These photos are by Jen. The ceremony shot is actually the Bride's father singing. It was very sweet.
Jody and I photographed Julie and Masanori at an in-studio session last week. They selected these two photos to be printed as 16x24s for their wedding this Saturday at the Columbia Tower Club. I did some final edits on the photos, and thought we'd show some before and afters on the blog!

We just returned home yesterday from our first wedding in Montana. While we haven't had the chance to look at the photos yet, we did pull a few out to share with ya'll (sorry, a little cowboy talk). We had a blast! The wedding took place near the small town of Bigfork at a beautiful venue named Bru-Mar Estates. The setting was gorgeous and the weather was awesome!
Jen and Issac were a blast to spend the day with and we got some great stuff. Can't wait to share more... Congrats you two!

"We are proud to announce that our studio has been rated by local brides and voted The Knot Best of Weddings 2008 Pick. Please pick up a copy of The Knot Best of Weddings 2008 magazine and check out our listing."
We must have done something right to have been voted the best wedding photographers in our area by our brides on the Knot... :-)...
Jen and I are very thankful to all the wonderful couples that thought we were worthy of this award. It now hangs in our studio on the wall.
A funny little side note, Jen and I were in Hawaii shooting a wedding when we got a call from one of our favorite florist. We were getting terrible reception at the time, and when she called the first words she spoke were - "Congratulations!" and we said "for what?" She said "you won the......" and the call dropped. On the next call, she said "you won the 'Best of the Knot' award," we were like "really!?" and the call dropped! We then figured out that it was April Fools Day, and we thought she was playing a joke on us! Ha Ha, because much to our surprise it was no joke! Cheers!
