6-14-08 Miranda & Sid--Vashon Island

New Yorkers Miranda and Sid were married at Miranda's family's home on Vashon Island. Actually, to call this just a "home" is certainly an understatement! The property is a splendid garden oasis. (So much, that it has been featured in many magazines). It was a garden wedding in every sense of the word, and the catering was unbelievable. Madison Park-based restaurant Crush served up edible art. (Yes, Jody and I were drooling over each course.) One of the absolute coolest things I have EVER seen at a wedding, was when Miranda's Dad brought over a bottle of Dom Perignon that he purchased the year Miranda was born. (He'd done the same for her sister at her wedding.) This was the champagne used in their first toast. How sweet! --Jen & Jody

Wedding in Kauai 06-07-08

Jen and I had the pleasure of coming to Hawaii to photograph TIm and Texas native Hollye. The wedding was at sunset on Anini beach, one of our favorite spots on Kauai. We started the day tromping around the island with the couple, shooting at several locations we scouted the day before. Every time we come to Kauai, we like to look for new places to shoot. There is so much here! Hollye and Tim were amazingly warm and trusting of our artistic eye. The warm weather made our day after Trash-the-Dress (TTD) session very fun. Tim was a little hesitant about this whole idea of "getting wet in your dress clothes in front of the camera" thing, but he was all smiles and even said he had so much fun after we were done. You can tell from the photos they had a blast! I hope to post some photos from Jen and I's TTD session in Maui. Cheers!

We are triathletes!

We competed in our very first triathlon this last weekend. It was the Issaquah Triathlon. This is a Sprint-distance tri consisting of: a 1/4 mile swim in Lake Sammamish, 15-mile bike and a 3.1 mile run. For those of you new to what a tri is, everything is timed, including how quickly you can change from your wetsuit into your biking clothes, and so on. Although we competed within our own age group, we decided to do the "Friends and Family" wave, meaning we started the race together. We had a FABULOUS time, and we must admit, we are little addicted and have been looking to do more this summer. Jen is hoping to take part in the Danskin, an all-women triathlon, this August. These photos were taken by our good pro-photo friend, Kyle Miller. (The first one is our impression of wetsuit superheros.)
