Kelly and Rob couldn't have cared any less that it was raining on their wedding day. They were more than willing to do outdoor photos at the Kirkland waterfront before heading to Snoqualmie Ridge. Once we got there, they decided to have the ceremony outside despite the drizzle. Wouldn't you know, that as soon as their short, 15-minute ceremony was over, it started to pour. Kelly's sister did an amazing job on all of the flowers. We couldn't believe she wasn't a professional florist! And yes, Rob did spend the weeks leading up to the big day practicing the little jump while clicking his heels together just for the wedding photos. --Jen & Jody
Post-wedding image turnaround
We've received so many positive comments about the blog! It's great to know folks are following our busy weekends so closely. :-)
Just as an FYI to all of our brides, the blog is a new addition to our new website. J & J Photography, our company of associate photographers, captures several weddings per weekend. Not all weddings by J & J Photography will be posted on the blog, and weddings that were photographed prior to June 24th are also not on the blog. This is because we didn't start blogging until June 24th.
Also, by no means does seeing an entry with wedding images indicate that particular entire wedding's images are finished being processed, edited, etc. Since we shoot in RAW format, all of the wedding images need to be touched before they can be released to our clients. We still release photos to our clients in order, starting with the past weddings and working up to the more recent. If you are curious as to your wedding image turnaround, feel free to email us directly. Thank you!
When we shot Sandi and Brandon's engagement session, they both seemed a bit camera-shy. It's pretty normal, really. Not many couples are used to being posed and photographed in a romantic fashion, which is why we recommend doing an engagement session. In the case of Sandi and Brandon, on the day of their wedding all of the photography jitters were gone, and they were AWESOME! Sandi's getting ready photos were done at Hotel Andre (with that cool door in the lobby), then we stopped at Kerry Park, Hamilton Viewpoint and Alki for portraits. --Jen & Jody
Carolyn is a very sweet person, and Tim compliments her pefectly! Take a fabulous couple, add in the elegance of Newcastle, and we're in photography heaven. Sean Patrick O'Reilly officated the tender ceremony, and our close friend Michael Fort was the last-minute DJ. Yes, you read that right! Shortly after the ceremony ended, and just as the cocktail hour began, we overheard the groom and his groomsmen talking about the DJ scheduled to arrive and how he did not show up. After several calls to that DJ company, and getting nowhere, I handed Jody his cell and he called our good friend and super DJ Michael. Even though Michael had just returned home at 6 a.m. that morning from a destination wedding, he packed up his gear and arrived at Newcastle just in time for the couple's first dance....and wouldn't you know...he had EVERY song that Carolyn and Tim requested (even the ones I'd never heard of!). The guests partied down to the Jimmy Buffet themed reception and had a great time! --Jen & Jody
These folks TOTALLY know how to party. Never in our years of photographing weddings have we seen guests start to dance when the DJ started and didn't stop until the DJ turned off the music! Kim and Mike had their "first sight" at Kerry Park, then portraits before boarding the Argosy. Our brief stop at the Bay Pavilion was tons of fun, and we greatly appreciate Mike's cooperation in riding the carousel despite his queasiness. :-) The sun was very bright but it made for very saturated skies and a brilliant sunset. --Jen & Jody
What a beautiful bride and stunning groom! Melissa and Peter had natural chemistry written all over their faces, and it really shows through in their portraits. They also both cried during the ceremony. This wedding was so memorable for both of us, not only because the bride and groom were willing to give us quite of bit of time during their reception for sunset portraits, but their guests were hilarious! I don't think I've ever seen a woman grab the bride's bouquet out of a little girl's hands then spike it on the dance floor during the bouquet toss. Such good memories and so many great photos...we are posting twice on the blog for Melissa and Peter. Congrats you two!--Jen & Jody
Katie was such a sweet, gentle bride, and we knew she'd be especially photogenic after our engagement session with them. Her lacy gown was stunning on her! We loved photographing the two of them in the barrel room at the winery. I don't think we've ever laughed as much as we did for the groom's father's toast. Loved the special chair for the garter toss. It was a fun crowd!--Jen & Jody
Cynthia and Austin's beautiful wedding began with getting ready photos at Hotel Monaco where the groom had a suprise limo pick up the girls. The crew headed out to Kerry Park for Cynthia and Austin's first sight, then to the Sculpture Park in downtown Seattle for a few more shots before going to Shilshole. The Beach Club was decorated so nicely! Such a beautiful day!--Jen and Jody
A very emotional day! We've never seen a to-be stepfather give vows to his to-be stepdaughter during the ceremony. It was very moving, and there wasn't a dry eye in sight. We wish you all the best!--Jody
